Saturday January 28th - 7:30 to midnight
with The Jeannie Daniels Band
At ‘The Hall’, 238 Deer Street, Portsmouth NH

What better way to heat things up in the dead of winter than to join your friends and neighbors at a Portsmouth Community Radio fundraiser dance!  Back by popular demand, The Jeannie Daniels Band will perform their infectious dance music including rock, R&B, motown, soul, funk, and a dash of swing.

The Hall at 238 Deer Street features a comfortable atmosphere with a large dance floor, lots of room to sit back and relax with friends, reasonable beverage prices, and free on-site parking.  Tickets for this fundraiser dance will be available at the door for $10, and admission is free if you join as a new Portsmouth Community Radio Member.  Doors open at 7:30pm with music beginning at 8pm and continuing until midnight.  This is a 21-plus event.

So, mark your calendars and join WSCA and the Jeannie Daniels Band for a dancing good time, Saturday, January 28th, at the Portsmouth VFW Hall located downtown at 238 Deer Street across from Centrix Bank.

Community Broadcasting Wannabes Sought!
January 3rd, 2012

Portsmouth Community Radio has announced its next free training session for any and all parties interested in playing a role as a volunteer in community radio—whether on-air or in a support role. The session is scheduled for Monday, January 16th, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.

“We’re on a mission to present programming that reflects the interests of the Seacoast listening community,” said Ann Bliss, the radio station’s Board Chair.  “So we encourage anybody who might have an idea for a program that would engage the community’s interest, as well as anyone who might like to assist an on-air volunteer, to get involved.”

The training session offered is the first step, Bliss explained.  “It’s a two-hour orientation at our studios at 909 Islington Street in Portsmouth.  After completing this training, a volunteer is prepared to serve in a variety of off-air activities.  For those interested in pursuing an on-air role or a technical one, we’ll provide additional training, also free.”

Those interested in signing up for the January 16 training are urged to send an email to
