WSCA News & Notes
Rhoda Capron could often be found working in and about the office.
While a volunteer at Portsmouth Community Radio, she did a tremendous amount of work when we were just getting started. Thank you, Rhoda!
Doug Simmons was an original host on WSCA-LP with his show “Frank ‘n Friends.” In addition he served for several years
as a member of the Engineering Committee. Thanks, Doug for all your work at Portsmouth Community Radio!
eXtreme Helen was a dj on WSCA hosting a late night show that was “eXtremely” popular. She also was a great spokesperson
for Portsmouth Community Radio and could be found at many fundraising events talking to the crowd, djing, helping to raise
funds for the station. In addition she did a lot of vocal acting on Audio Theatre. Thanks for all your volunteer work at WSCA-LP.
Rick Dirck was the host of “Eros” that ran on Saturdays from Midnight to 6 am Sunday Morning.
Rick has been an excellent volunteer at WSCA-LP, contributing much time and effort in helping
the station grow. Thanks, Rick.
Anita Croteau hosted “This ‘n That with Anita”… a little bit country, a little bit rock n’ roll and a whole lot more. Anita was with the station
since December of 2004.
Being a volunteer at Portsmouth Community Radio, especially one that works behind the scenes, is a critical job when it comes to making the station run. Laura Keller has been in charge of the Music Calendar. She keeps our listeners up-to-date on who’s playing where and when on the Seacoast Music Scene… no easy task. Thank you, Laura!
Liz Wright, Jenny Freeman, and Peg O’Neil have make up the crew of “Portsmouth At Large” which focuses on news about the non-profit organizations in the Seacoast. This very valuable, informative, and entertaining program is an example of the best that community radio offers.
Mark Steeves has been with the station since 2004, working on the planning committee, construction, and maintenance at the station as well as at our transmitter site at The Music Hall. He is one of several volunteer engineers, without whom we would not be on the air! Thanks, Mark!
Jo Ann Paradise is the excellent host of “Women Plus”… a show that features music, interview, and news for and about women… with the occasional male tossed in for good measure! Email: WomenPlusWSCA@aol.com
