Tune in to The Free Speech Zone on Sunday night August 1st at 7 pm to hear a radio adaptation of the new documentary USS LIBERTY: DEAD IN THE WATER. On June 8, 1967, US Navy intelligence ship USS Liberty was suddenly and brutally attacked on the high seas in international waters by the air and naval forces of Israel. The Israeli forces attacked with full knowledge that this was an American ship and lied about it. Survivors have been forbidden for 40 years to tell their story under oath to the American public. The failure of the United States government to undertake a complete investigation of the Israeli attack on USS Liberty has resulted in grievous harm to the surviving victims, as well as to the families of all crewmembers. The only conceivable reason for this failure is the political decision to put the interests of Israel ahead of those of American servicemen, employees, and veterans. The fact that the Israeli government and its surrogates in the United States have worked so long and hard to prevent an inquiry itself speaks volumes as to what such an inquiry would find.

Then Gerald Mohr is back as Philip Marlowe in “The Adventures of Philip Marlowe.” Tonight’s episode is entitled “The Tale of the Mermaid.” Marlowe is a no-nonsense PI, Gumshoe, Sleuth… that is not above making the
occasional wisecrack. The plots are unique and entertaining and the acting is outstanding… listen for yourself… we think you will agree.
Then one of our favorite Science Fiction Adventures is back… “Space Patrol” with Commander Buzz Corey and Lt. Happy as two ”Space Police” charged with keeping law and order within the galaxay. Tonight’s adventure is entitled

This entire series is fun to listen to and will bring back a lot of memories for those who remember the radio show or the television series as they were both on the air simultaineously in the mid-1950′s.

George Benson
Tune in tonight for some of the music of George Benson. Benson’s music goes from pop to jazz, and I love it all, but tonight I’ll play some of his recordings that he characterized as “sophisticated rhythm and blues”. And backed by some really fine players who’d worked with some of the tightest bands around such as the Butterfield Blues Band, Sly, and James Brown, among others. Is there a more tasteful guitarist out there? Tune in and you be the judge!
Tune in to Soul Vaccination tonight from 6-8 for the music of George Benson. Only on WSCA-LP, Portsmouth Community Radio, 106.1 FM on your radio dial and streaming worldwide from www.portsmouthcommunityradio.org. –Jenny Freeman
