    Anyone for croquet?  Far from the game you played for fun as a child, competitive croquet is a whole different matter. You won’t want to miss Charlie Griffin’s interview with croquet champion JimMcLaughlin (photo) Jim Mclaughlin_Fosters Democrat Friday after the 8 o’clock news as he explains how “ real” croquet  is played. Jim is also a former statistician for the New York Jets and he will tell us what’s involved in “crunching the numbers “ in the NFL.         PHS Clippers 2013 BBallSaturday Night Fever on WSCA!

        WSCA’s coverage of Portsmouth High School post season basketball  reaches a  ‘fever pitch”  Saturday night with the boys quarterfinal game   between Portsmouth and Souhegan  beginning at 6:45.  Andrew Van Ness and Lincoln Soldati will provide live coverage from Stone Gymnasium while Charlie Griffin will be in studio with pre-game interviews with varsity coach Jim Mulvey and Junior Varsity Coach Brett Mulvey as well as part two of his halftime interview with Tom O”Leary about the naming of Stone Gymnasium . Join our team  as the Clippers continue their march to the “Big Dance’  a trip to the semi-finals next week at UNH. You can also listen online at WSCA FM.org

          PHS Clippers 2013 BBallBe sure to tune in on Friday, January 18th beginning at 6:15 pm as Portsmouth Community Radio, WSCA-LP 106.1 FM  will proudly broadcast the Portsmouth High School Clippers vs Hollis-Brookline Cavaliers basketball game.  Listen locally at 106.1 FM or streaming live online at www.wscafm.org.  
          Our host will be Charlie Griffin.  His pre-game interview guest will be Coach Jim Mulvey who will discuss last Friday’s win over the St. Thomas Saints  and Tuesday’s victory against the  Milford High School Spartans.  Charlie will also introduce a new segment entitled “Meet the Clippers” in which he will interview various member of the team.  This week’s guests will include the team’s four Seniors: Colin MacDonald, Travis MacDonald, Ben Landry and Devin Husslage.

          Charlie’s special halftime segment of “Meet the Coaches” will allow listeners to learn  something about the other winter sports at Portsmouth High School starting with Stan and  Mike  Lyford , the father/son duo who coach the boys and girls winter track teams.

          Play by play for tonight’s game will be provided by Andrew Van Ness who will be assisted by engineers Roger Wood and Debbie Benedict.
